New stages, fewer audiences but the same enthusiasm for music, for art, for culture.
The coronavirus has been a hard blow for everyone and also for culture in all its forms. Musical events in 2020 had to be cancelled and musical culture came to a standstill and had to adapt to a new online scenario, without an audience and without so many means.
This 2021 sheds some light and, despite the fact that theatres, squares and concert halls cannot be completely filled, culture is slowly opening its doors again and music will sound again. We will be able to see classical music concerts, pop and rock music, some festivals being held again… Life is music and the public is eagerly awaiting the moment to enjoy it again.
Classical music
This year we hope to recover an almost normal rhythm of performances in which musical stars and great orchestras will once again take to the stage. In Spain, several performances will be available.
The Berlin Philharmonic, with its conductor Kirill Petrenko, will perform in Spain in May on the 2nd (Palau de la Música in Barcelona), 3rd and 6th (Auditorio Nacional in Madrid), within Ibermúsica. That same month and within the same cycle, Yo-Yo Ma will perform Bach’s suites for cello (on the 13th). These are just some of the performances that can be enjoyed in the coming months in Madrid and Barcelona, if covid-19 allows it, new performances are expected.
