End of 2013, a new law took effect to exempt process servers from trespassing. State Sen. Rick Jones introduced the legislation. Previously, there was nothing to protect the process server from entering a property marked “No Trespassing” this law enables process servers to now enter a property. Now, a process server can legally go from the street to the defendant’s front door and back without violating the law in any way. This law is a step in the right direction for protecting the private process server.
